How To Boost Your Business With Social Media Marketing

Why Social Media Marketing is Important

Social media is one of the best ways to market your business and interact with clients and customers. It is much more efficient as you speak directly to your dream clients, both current and future and learn all of their habits and issues.

So what is social media marketing?

Social media marketing is a great way to engage with an audience and help build relationships and provide solutions to their pain points.

For example, a clothing brand uses social media marketing to show off its collections and entice customers to visit their shops or buy online. This is all through beautiful, engaging imagery and video.

But, posting engaging content isn’t the only way to get the most out of social media.

Businesses that need to understand what their customers are saying about their brand and what they need will check conversations in their comment section and DMs and respond appropriately. This is called monitoring and is an essential part of social media marketing.

A business manager or marketer who needs to understand how their brand is performing on social media will check its reach, sales and engagement. This is analysing and is another vital cog in the social media marketing machine.

As well as the above actions, another important part is targeted advertising and engagement, which is usually done through social media campaigns. (Imagine sponsored and promoted content).

Now that you understand what social media marketing is and what is involved, we can move onto building a social media strategy; this is the fun bit and where you start seeing results!

How To Create the Perfect Social Media Strategy

Carry out a social media audit

This is one of my favourite steps, as you can get into the nitty-gritty of your social media. This is your opportunity to understand what’s working and what’s not and find out how to move forward with your strategy. As well as this, look into your competitors and what they post on social media and analyse them.

Then it’s time to have fun and play around with new profile images, bio’s, descriptions and content.

Choose the best social media platforms for your business

Now, you don’t need to be on every platform. That’s a lot of work! No business can market itself on all platforms, so choose what works best with your business's values.

I do recommend being on Instagram and Facebook as a starting point.

If you are a more creative business, you could show off your skills on TikTok, or if your business is very aesthetically pleasing, share your photos on Pinterest. But, if you are a professional company, you would probably do better on LinkedIn than some other businesses.

It totally depends on what your business provides and your whole ethos. If you are struggling with this, it may be time to talk to a social media manager. I would love to help, please enquire today!

Know your audience

Understanding your client profile, such as age, occupation, gender, and location, is important for any business. Not only does it help improve your service or product, but it allows you to understand what to share on social media. It helps you with those first steps.

A great way of finding out more about your audience is through surveys. I love doing these through Instagram stories using either the poll or question box feature.

Create a social media content calendar

This is the most useful tool! I love scheduling content as it not only saves time but helps curate a beautiful and consistent feed across platforms.

When you are consistent on social media, you become familiar with your audience, which builds trust, engagement, reach and organic reach.

Experiment with posting times

Finding the best time to post can really optimise your engagement. The best times to post will depend on when your followers are online and using different social platforms. Not all platforms will be the same, and your followers won’t be active at the same times every day. You can check this through the insights page on your accounts.

Create engaging content

This one may be obvious, but it is so important! Visuals are some of the most efficient and effective ways to communicate your message and increase brand awareness. This is why Instagram has done so well.

Whether you use your own imagery, get it online, create graphics or get help, it is one of the most important parts of social media marketing.

Engage with your audience

It is called ‘social media' for a reason.

Go out and get chatting with your followers and find new faces to connect with. It is an important part of business to help grow social media presence and build genuine connections to generate sales or build brand awareness. It is also nice to get to know people who are fans of your business.

Using all these tools and steps will help you boost your business on social media and create that winning social media strategy! If you are struggling and need a little help with it all, head to the enquiries page to book a FREE call with me.
